India has taken another major step towards becoming a global semiconductor manufacturing hub. In May this year, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an important agreement was signed between India’s Tata Electronics and the Netherlands-based technology company ASML. The objective of this agreement is to strengthen India’s semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem and provide technical support for the new chip manufacturing facility being developed in Gujarat.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten.

State-of-the-Art Semiconductor Plant to be Established in Dholera

Under the agreement, ASML will provide technical support for the establishment and expansion of Tata Electronics’ new semiconductor facility in Dholera, Gujarat. This project is considered one of the flagship initiatives under India’s Semiconductor Mission.
