Timed content changes how you approach combat. In Kurast Undercity, Diablo 4 Items are only part of the reward picture because the run also tests your movement, enemy selection, and ability to finish the final boss before the timer becomes a problem.
Stage One: Enter With Momentum
The opening section establishes the pace of the run. Move toward afflicted monsters immediately and use your most reliable area damage. These enemies are important because defeating them extends the timer and gives you more time to reach the deeper floors.
Do not spend the opening minutes exploring empty corridors. Choose the nearest useful group, clear it, and continue toward the next cluster.
Stage Two: Keep Combat Moving
During the middle floors, use condition-based decisions:
◆ If several enemies are grouped together, use your main area damage rotation.
◆ If enemies are spread out, target the largest nearby pack instead of chasing every monster.
◆ If the timer is healthy, maintain the direct route toward the next floor.
◆ If the timer is falling, reduce side movement and prioritize afflicted groups.
◆ If resources are low, use a quick recovery skill before committing to another pack.
Inventory management can wait until the run ends. Pick up important rewards when practical, but avoid standing still to compare every item during the timed phase.
Stage Three: Prepare for the Boss
The final boss can be Yoche the Golden, Longtooth the Wretched, or Alia. Keep enough time for the encounter and avoid using every major cooldown on the last regular group. Identify the boss's dangerous attack, move to safety, and return to your damage rotation during the recovery window.
1. Enter the boss area and identify the encounter.
2. Keep your character positioned with a clear view of incoming attacks.
3. Move away from dangerous effects before restarting damage.
4. Use defensive cooldowns when movement is not enough.
5. Finish the boss before sorting the rewards.
Difficulty and Clear Speed
Higher Torment difficulty can improve reward quality, but only when your character remains efficient. If the higher setting causes frequent deaths, long recovery periods, or a slow boss finish, test a lower setting and compare the results over several runs.
For a build centered on cheap Diablo 4 materials, judge the activity by how consistently it supplies the resources needed for your next Masterworking ranks, not by one unusually lucky run.
Complete one timed run, identify the stage that caused the greatest delay, and adjust your skills or route before entering again.
